CNWL have been successful in receiving wave 2 NHS England transformation funding to set up an IPS service in Milton Keynes. As outlined in the Five Year Forward NHS England has committed to doubling access to Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services nationally by 2020/21, enabling approximately 20,000 people who experience a severe mental illness (SMI) to find and retain employment.

We are looking for a full-time Employment Team Leader who is a highly motivated and professional individual with initiative, and experience of leading an employment service. You will also be expected to carry a small caseload which will allow you to role model high fidelity IPS practice. Your role will involve promoting employment and raise expectations around the ability of service users to access paid employment. ­­­

This is a permanent full-time post (37.5 hours) per week and will be based at The Recovery and Rehabilitation Team, Westcroft Health Centre, 1 Savill Lane, Westcroft, Milton Keynes , MK4 4EN

We are looking for someone with experience of:

  • Leading and supervising an employment team aimed at increasing access to paid employment opportunities for people with mental health problems or other vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to ensure the team meets their targets
  • Leading the development of local employer relationships in order to access the hidden labour market.
  • Able to negotiate diplomatically and effectively with staff at all levels, and users of mental health services.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • An understanding of the Individual Placement and Support Employment model would be valuable, but not essential as full training will be provided.

You will be joining a well-established Employment Service, who are a National Centre of Excellence, and will have access to a range of professional development and training opportunities.

All posts are funded for 2 years initially, but there is a commitment to securing on-going funding.  Successful applicants will be entitled to 27 days annual leave per year, as well as access to the NHS final salary pension scheme.

We will be hosting a recruitment assessment centre on 13th June at The Ridgeway Centre, Featherstone Road, Wolverton Mill South, Milton Keynes, MK12 5TH . Candidates who pass the recruitment assessment centre will be invited to attend an interview in the afternoon.
